The Battel Bonfire Boyes, whose bonfire night goes back to 1646, lead a torchlit procession through Battle with visiting Sussex societies, ending with a bonfire and fireworks on Abbey Green. Free to attend. Battle is a 30-minute drive from Rye.

Abbey Green is a 30-minute drive from The River Haven. Battle's roads close from 6pm, so arrive early. Rye's own Bonfire Night is the following Saturday.
