Bexhill Carnival is the town's flagship community summer event, an eight-day run of family activities, music nights and seaside events building up to a town-wide procession on the closing day. The 2027 carnival runs 24 to 31 July, with the theme still to be announced; the procession sees decorated floats and walking groups tour the town centre, and Party in the Park fills The Polegrove. The carnival is volunteer-run with sponsorship from Hastings Direct and other local backers.
Bexhill sits a thirty-five-minute drive from The River Haven. The carnival is a family draw rather than a niche-interest event — pair an afternoon at the procession with a stop at the De La Warr Pavilion, then a quiet riverside evening back in Rye.
