On the lawns in front of Bexhill's Grade I-listed De La Warr Pavilion, the FEASTival is a three-day free seafront food festival over the late-May bank holiday. Pop-up street food (Turkish Cypriot, Greek souvlaki, smash burgers, bao buns, churros) sits alongside an ale and cider bar in the Pavilion Gardens, a craft and gift market, live music, fairground rides and family entertainment. A separate ticketed stand-up comedy evening runs each night in the marquee — over-18s only.
Bexhill is a 35-minute drive from Rye. Stay riverside at The River Haven and make a long bank-holiday weekend of it — drive over for an evening of food and music, or land for the full Friday-to-Sunday spread. Dogs on leads welcome at the festival.
