Airbourne returns for its 32nd year in 2026 — one of Europe's biggest free seafront airshows, flown along a two-mile display line above Eastbourne's beachfront. The Red Arrows headline from Friday to Sunday, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight brings its Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane all four days, and the 2026 bill adds an RAF Typhoon, an F-86 Sabre, a MiG-17 and the show debut of P-51 Mustang 'Marinell'.
Entry is free across all four days, with military exhibitions and children's entertainment on the ground between displays and fireworks closing the evenings. Eastbourne is about an hour's drive from Rye along the coast road.
Stay at The River Haven
Eastbourne's hotels fill months ahead of Airbourne, and Rye sits an hour along the coast — close enough for a show day, far enough to escape the seafront crush afterwards. The River Haven is on the quayside below the old town: book the nights around the displays you want, and take breakfast on the Rother before driving over.
