Hastings Old Town Carnival Week has run every summer since 1968, organised by HOTCA and the Old Hastings Preservation Society. The format is unique to the town — nine days of community events ranging from the historic Pram Race down Harold Road to treasure trails, open houses, walking tours, live music and street parties, all building to the Grand Carnival Procession on the closing day. The 2026 theme is 100 Years of Television.
Hastings Old Town sits a twenty-five-minute drive from The River Haven. With events on every day for nine days, you can pick a weekend and fit in two or three — an open house on Saturday, a walking tour, then the closing Sunday procession — without rushing between Rye and Hastings the same evening.
