The Rye Summer Running Series is a regular race programme on Rye Harbour Nature Reserve — a flat, fast tarmac route through shingle ridges, saltmarsh and saline lagoons out to the shingle beach at The Point. Four evenings, four shots at a PB. The 5k and 10k are chip-timed with trophies for leading runners; a 1km Junior Run for under-16s sets off half an hour earlier. Bespoke medals; series-entry T-shirts for those tackling the full set.
Rye Harbour is on the hotel's doorstep — a five-minute drive from The River Haven, or a warm-up walk for the extra-keen. Race Friday evening, recover with a slow Saturday in Rye, head home Sunday refreshed. The Friday-night format is made for overnight stays; book a riverside room before the rest of the runners do.
Stay at The River Haven
Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is a five-minute drive from The River Haven. Race Friday evening and skip the long drive home in the dark — stay riverside, two miles from the start line.
